Volunteer Untapped ATX: Salvation Army
Join us on December 6th as we volunteer with Salvation Army and socialize at Leona Botanical Cafe & Bar afterwards!
Registration closes Dec 06, 2025, 9:00 AM
Time & Location:
Dec 06, 2025, 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Christmas Cheer Warehouse, 6510 S Congress Ave, Austin, TX 78745, USA
About The Event:
15 volunteers will volunteer with Salvation Army for their Angel Tree program to help them receive and sort donations. All 7,000 gifts the public donates to the children in their program must be dropped off at their Angel Tree warehouse. There, we will take the gifts in, quality check the donations, and sort them properly on their shelves. This helps them be prepared to distribute the gifts in an orderly fashion when families in need come to pick up their gifts later in December.
After RSVPing for Volunteer Untapped, please also register for the event through Salvation Army using the link here. Our volunteer reservation code is 'volunt903'.
After the event, we will be socializing at Leona Botanical Cafe & Bar with food and #volunbeers! We'll be hosting a Volunteer Unwrapped White Elephant Gift Exchange. Please bring something you already own to exchange with other volunteers. Used items are welcome, but please bring a wrapped gift you think other volunteers would enjoy receiving!

More About the Salvation Army and the Angel Tree Program:
Inspired by our Christian mission, we offer the resources and support to lift up our neighbors in crisis. As the largest non-profit provider of family emergency shelter in Central Texas, annually we serve more than 10,000 people with shelter, addiction rehabilitation, clothing, meals, holiday support, and direct client assistance. Each year we successfully case manage hundreds from crisis to stability and self-sufficiency.
Since 1979, The Salvation Army’s Angel Tree program has helped to fulfill the Christmas wishes and needs of children up to 12 years old throughout Central Texas. Low-income families apply to the program starting in September and provide The Salvation Army with a Christmas wish list for each child that includes new toys or games, along with clothing and shoe sizes. Donors then can “adopt” each of these Angels and fill an Angel Tree bag with gifts chosen for each child. Gifts are then distributed to parents a week before Christmas.
